Apollo track you like best?

Genelec and MackieA lot of people ask why I have so many speakers in my studio. Well that has everything to do with trying to get a good sounding mix. I'm very fanatic about trying to get my music to sound right on everyone's speakers. And they are just all different. My main monitors are digital Genelec 8250's that you can see in the picture on the left. I also have a Genelec 7270A subwoofer with them. I love the crispness and stereo image of these speakers. You really hear everything. But there is also a downside on them being this good. I can't hear when other speakers can't handle the sound any more. So I actually need lesser speakers listen to my mixes to compensate for that. I also use these Mackie HR824 MKI's. They are actually the old speakers from my friend Hans that used to judge my mixes on them in his studio. These Mackies sound much warmer and I can hear better how the mix should be in the mid area of the frequency spectrum.

AvantonesSo are the Mackies less good, well they are different, but yes I think the Genelecs are better. And then I also use these Avantone Mixcubes. They are very small 1 way speakers that have very little bass in them. on these speakers I can judge if my bass sounds are not too low in the frequency spectrum. I should still be able to hear the bass on these speakers. On the Genelec subwoofer I can hear the opposite and hear if there is not too much bass in my mix.

Then there is a 5.1 surround set with a couple of Behringer Thruths. The B2031A to be more precise with a B2092A subwoofer. These speakers are studio monitors, but they sound more like Hifi speakers in my opinion. When I'm in the final stages of mixing I also listen to my mixes on these speakers and also in the cinema were there are a couple of KEF speakers and then I go to the studio of my friend Hans and listen some more there. And then I listen some more on my headphones and the final test I do in my car actually :) So a lot of references. And if it sounds good on all of these speakers I hope it will sound good for you too :)
